Review of Like Father (2018) by Tim W — 04 Aug 2018
Total cheesefest slightly redeemed by some nice one liners - the maple sauce gag being the best - and undermined by some terrible stuff - the tour guide with the weed was a real low point, and don't get me started on the karaoke scene.
Creditable enough performances from the main characters also pick it up a bit , but I thought Richard Curtis had exhausted this shit years ago. If you want to watch a feelgood movie totally devoid of surprises then this is for you.
I was hoping something would just implode half way through and really shake things up. No such luck. What's with Kelsey Grammar's gait, by the way? And according to my maths he's 55! That is a guy with one hard paper round.
Now I need to watch something where innocent women and children get massacred to take the taste of this out of my mouth.
