Felicity Jones is the British version of Emma Roberts. And I absolutely love Emma Roberts. Unfortunately, a pretty girl is not enough to carry a movie. I give it a 6/10 because it is well-enough made and plenty watchable, but I actually did not like it that much. What was the point? Usually, the point of having douchebag characters is to give them some redeemable quality. I'm not sure they did that in this movie, and to make matters worth, it was both of the leads who suffered from said douchebaggery.

Jones is good. Damn she's gorgeous, and maybe that's half the battle, but she spends most of the movie stealing your heart with her vulnerability. I never really liked Yelchin. He reeks of weakness. Normally, I like that in a guy, but I guess not when he's pulling down caliber like Jones and J-Law, Ms. Jennifer Lawrence. That also created a huge believability issue as there was just not much attractive about him.

So probably getting into some spoilers, the content of the movie just turned me off. To begin with, no Emma Roberts looking girl is going to go "like crazy" over me, so how can I possibly relate? The romance at the beginning was good enough. The first bit of conflict was nicely done. From there, it spirals into something I've already seen and don't care to watch again. Yelchin is a douche. Lawrence, who knows of his relationship, is stupid. Jones becomes a douche. I think her fling may have been an innocent bystander, but with the collared shirts and ties, if he did know, he's automatically the biggest douche.

As one poster on imdb asked, couldn't they keep their legs closed for two months? As much as they claimed to be in love, the failed the loyalty test miserably. Yet they kept coming back to one another. I don't see the romance in that. More like...the stupidity. As for Lawrence's character, she's almost the worst of the bunch. She will go off and cry victim, when she never should have been in that situation to begin with. So, as I say, the movie is well-enough made. It's the characters who are lacking.
