First movie review in awhile, sadly my other Flixster account is no longer active so all 80+ of my other reviews went bye-bye. Here's to a new start and what a movie to start if off with. So without further delay, here's my (Second) first ever review.

Like Crazy was the Best Picture Winner of the 2011 Sundance film festival, it was also the first semi-Box Office hit from Director Drake Doremus. Like Crazy follows the story of a couple torn apart by distance, it shows the love, hate, struggle, and all the other problems that people must face when they are ripped apart by distance.

This movie was a moderate budgeted film with no big superstar power (although it had many familiar faces). The film was shot in a sort of reality tv type feeling way, I felt more like I was actually watching a real couple being followed around by a couple cameras rather than watching a fiction movie.

I really think the lack of star power made this movie such a success, you really feel as if it's an actual couple you are watching. This movie may not appeal to all but having personal experience really brings this movie home, each and every segment seemed to bring out a different emotion and this movie deffinately invokes strong feelings.

I love the way the movie transitions to a faster tempo when they are together to simulate how quickly time passes when you're with someone and happy, to slowing down when the inevitable goodbye comes when one must return to their home.

This movie is not full of surprises or suspense but merely sheds light on exactly what a relationship must endure when you separate it by time and distance. You feel the struggle, the back and forth and at times you feel yourself just as frustrated as they are on screen.

There were times I laughed, times I felt sadness, and also times I felt anger...to me when a movie can so easily induce a wide range of emotions it cannot be overlooked. Semi *SPOILER ALERT* I have to say the ending is very true, and very real in comparison to real life, no matter what happens, no matter how long and hard the road is there is that split second where everything comes together and falls into place and you remember exactly why you've traveled the road you have.

I personally believe that the last 30 seconds of the movie make the journey so worthwhile. I highly recommend this movie to anyone that has been in a long distance relationship, and also to anyone who knows how hard and enduring the journey can be.

This is only the 7th movie I have given 5 stars to, I believe it more than earned them.
