Review of Like Crazy (2011) by Ale M — 03 Jun 2013
Akin to "Blue Valentine," though less penetrating, "Like Crazy" gives a naturalistic depiction of love without grandiose displays and contrivances. It follows the vicissitudes of a romance from the beginning when it's shiny and filled with promise to when the earnestness dissipates but the desire to recapture that initial fire remains.
This young couple comes to find that love is tragically fragile against time and distance. Anton Yelchin ("The Beaver") and Felicity Jones ("Chalet Girl") are irresistible, and make these characters feel real and the story believable.
