Review of Lightyear (2022) by Nintendofan721 — 24 Jun 2022
Here we are with another bottom tier Pixar film, and this one is a disgrace! First off, they changed the voice actor for Buzz Lightyear, and my guess is that Tim Allen rejected the part because he hated the script.
It’s supposed to be the movie Andy watched that the toy was based off of, but the writers completely ignored what it was and didn’t give a sh*t about it. The side characters that were introduced were completely forgettable, and I gotta bring up the fact they are exposing children to the LGBT action, while there was zero reason to do it here as it adds nothing to the plot.
Lightyear has hardly any entertainment value. There were a couple laughs but no more than that, it’s mostly a snooze fest. A Buzz Lightyear spin-off had a lot of potential, but the people of today’s Disney Pixar completely f*cked it up! It was nothing like the Toy Story franchise and they didn’t even try to capture the spirit of it.
It’s slightly better than Turning Red, which also came out this year, but not by much. I would not recommend this film to anyone at all, and Disney is pushing their disgustingness to infinity and beyond.
