As a diehard fan of the original Toy Story movies, I can see how this Buzz character became "Toy Buzz". this movie has some wonderful visual callbacks to the original films but lacks in-character.
The side cast is terrible, not funny and generic. The "Plot Twist" doesn't add up with the canon of the original series, and as a fan, it's weird for me. I will stick to the "Buzz Lightyear Of Star Command" tv show.
It's an enjoyable ride, but nothing more.
