Review of Lightyear (2022) by Bertobellamy — 17 Jun 2022
It seems now that Pixar works best with low-key stories. 'Lightyear,' maybe Pixar's most ambitious film since 'Toy Story 4' is kind of dull. The themes about letting the past go and learning to live with your mistakes fit very well into Buzz's development as a character, but the overall story is boring, especially in the middle section.
Also, side characters are generic and annoying. I didn't see THAT twist coming, but it didn't turn into something exciting. I Hope Pixar returns to the 'Soul' and 'Turning Red' vibe with its next project.
