Review of Lights Out (2016) by Chris L — 05 Nov 2016
I love a good horror flick. I was excited that they were making a full length feature based on what was a great horror short. Needless to say, I was disappointed with what appeared to be a halfhearted attempt to create suspense and a backstory.
The movie spent way too much time trying to explain who the creepy person in the shadows is and not nearly enough time finding creative ways to legitimately scare you. They spent all their money on Bello and Palmer and decided that a bunch of one dimensional and unbelievable supporting actors could carry the theme.
Not a bad movie, just not what it needed to be. Go pick up It Follows instead.
