Review of Lifeforce (1985) by Sara S — 15 Oct 2008
Thought this movie was scary the first time I watched it on Cinemax when I was a kid. Thought that one of the corpses looked like Ronald Reagan.
Anyways, today I find it to be sub-par. The visuals were good, but the "living corpse" puppets move and look like they're rejects from the Chuck-E-Cheese's animatronics band. The blood spewing from Dr. Armstrong's and Sir Percy's corpses aboard the helicopter looked like something you can find in one of those crappy "originals" you can find on the Sci-Fi Channel today. As other reviews before me have stated, the only things that make this movie worthwhile are a totally naked Mathilda May and Patrick Stewart. I also should add on an end note that the ending left so many loose ends. There should have been five or so minutes added to tie them up, not just have it end with Caine standing outside the cathedral with London still in chaos (a quiet chaos now that the vamps have been sent back to their ship). I can see a remake of this movie happening with, hopefully, better quality in all aspects of the movie.
