Review of Lifeboat (1944) by Eugene L — 22 Jun 2007
A thoroughly gripping effort, and it all takes place in a lifeboat. The survivors rescue a German, who eventually takes over the boat as he proves to be more competent than any of the other occupants. The question is if he is rowing them to salvation or is there something more sinister going on? Hitch certainly knows how to rack up the tension, and it works.
This was made during WW2, and with this context it was fascinating to see how it panned out.
