Review of Life or Something Like It (2002) by Mariah J — 06 Jul 2009
I had wanted to see this movie since it came out and 7 years later I finally saw it. I'm glad I did too. I loved it! It was very cute and simple. It didn't try too hard to be funny or romantic or to try and make a life or death statement.
I liked that Christian's character wasn't too much of an ass, they just weren't meant for each other. The story with Pete having a kid was kinda useless, but I see why they added it. I thought it was pretty realistic to not totally resolve the relationship with her sister, whether this was done on purpose or not.
My favorite scene is the end when she's lying in the hospital bed and Pete finally tells her how he feels. Love it! Angelina did a very good job, but she is always good whether you like her or not personally.
I think this is one of her best roles actually. And Edward Burns is starting to grow on me...he's cute! I definitely recommend this movie since I know most people have not seen it. See it! It's cute and light-hearted, doesn't take itself too seriously.
