Review of Life of Brian (1979) by Digital B — 28 Jun 2010
Some may say that my dislike for organized religion is the only reason why I think this movie is so perfect, but the real reason is because it's filled with sarcasm, silly iconic images and truth about how religions get started, how those in charge try to keep power and how the working class is abused.
This movie has more classic one liners than any other movie I know, well, Monty Pythons Holy Grail, and then there is The Meaning of Life (by Monty Python) and, oh, there is Time Bandits, and also Brazil, but those were some thing separate, but typically connected with the previously mentioned Monty Python.
And now for some thing completely different.
This movie is all about making fun of religions, those in power and those who get stepped on by those in power. It's funny. It's true. It's perfect.
This movie is in my top 20 movies. I love this movie. I recommend this movie to all who are open minded and understand why sarcasm is some thing to be cherished.
