Review of Life of Brian (1979) by Kim B — 08 Apr 2012

It was very hard for me to hear wtf they were saying with their thick accents and no subtitles, incredibly annoying. Also, I think the disc I watched skipped some parts. Anyways, Python has a different sense of humor that you don't see anymore.

It plays a lot with words for humor and subtleties like something in the background. This is probably better than the Meaning of Life, but still not anywhere on par with the Holy Grail. The Holy Grail is quite frankly the Holy Grail of funny movies in general and you can't touch that.

I did like the mom character especially in the film. Even though, I appreciate the thought that goes into an intelligent funny movie, it was quite boring and tame compared to the humor nowadays. Also, characters got mixed up and confusing.

I'm sure during it's time it was groundbreaking, but they're are much interesting funny films poked at religion now like Dogma.
