Brian was born on the original Christmas in a stable next door to Jesus and from his birth and throughout his life he is mistaken for a prophet. This film caused some controversy on its release with religious groups as being blasphemous and mocking, but on closer inspection this is not a film out to change the world and peoples beliefs, it's simply a hilarious tale of Brian and his continuing mistaken identity.

Brought to our screens by the Monty Python team this is, as expected, a riot of comedy and sometimes disjointed set pieces but they all come together as a rather splendid and timeless British comedy that never fails to raise numerous smiles and belly laughs.

Full to the brim with brave and bold satire the likes of which had not been seen on cinema screens before. It's silliness is perfectly counterbalanced by it's cleverness, more structured and accomplished than their other films, razor sharp and well put together.

These are just a few reasons why this is my favourite Python film and also one of the best British comedies ever made.
