Review of Life Itself (2018) by Rachel L — 30 Sep 2018
I absolutely loved this movie. I thought it was moving, profound, creatively written and presented, and I loved the message of beauty amidst tragedy, as well as what is passed on from one generation to the next and how that can be transformed into more, and how we are impacted by our past (and also how we can move into the future).
I thought the acting was fantastic, and I thought the narration throughout the film added levity, insight and humor. I feel a need to say that I truly do not understand why almost every critic gave this film a poor rating.
Please don't believe the reviews, this film is GREAT. In addition to disagreeing with low ratings from the critics, I have never seen such LOW scores for a film that is so truly excellent, not to mention that I have seen higher scores from critics for films that were actually not well done.
So, I wish there was some way that the critics could use a scale to judge films- it almost felt like they had something personal against the writer or director to give ratings so low. I have never seen such a mismatch of ratings from critics to actual film quality.
GO SEE THIS MOVIE AND DECIDE FOR YOURSELF!
