Review of Life Itself (2014) by V H — 01 Aug 2014
Documentaries can either be turned into an authentic biography of a person or it drowns in the indulgence that is a hagiography. Life itself is neither of these but it contains both of their qualities, as well as being a poignant, and affectionate piece of non-fiction.
Ebert was a prolific author of film criticism as well as a darling for the mainstream movie goers as the one who can rely on giving a relative-based opinion on the films you wanna watch, the movie strips the persona of his and gives an insight into his other sides.
