Review of Life Itself (2014) by Big T — 05 Sep 2015
Watching Life Itself, is like watching an extended version of Roger's Celebration of Life. From his early childhood, to early career, to his last days and weeks dealing w his cancer. I grew up w Siskel and Ebert, their show brought the art of movie critic to popular TV format, and I am sure transformed movie reviews in both print, and TV, and now internet reviews.
Their show popularized that everybody had an opinion, about a movie, good, or bad. I didn't know about Ebert illness, much, until this movie, really. it is funny how a TV personality seemingly can live on in our minds, long past the due date.
I recommend this movie, as an indepth view of Ebert's life and career, but more inspiring was how he faced cancer, and life and illness, his will to survive, and his passion for his work, supported by his love.
A masterful Leave of Presence.
