Review of Life Is Sweet (1991) by Jezzy A — 04 Nov 2006
Firstly, the voices were so annoying. Particularly that of 'Nikola'. A shrill shrew with a cut up Brit-ccent. Don't get me wrong, I like it sometimes, but that was the worst case scenario combined with a character I really didn't like to boot.
Anyways, the rest. Theres nothing extraordinary about this film and I know thats the point, its meant to be about the everyday and mundane being the most intriguing of all. But quite frankly, it didn't really entertain me.
The only part that was grabbing me was towards the end when Nikola was finally shutting up. Its interesting that although Nikola is perhaps the centre of the film that she is not focused on as much as you may expect.
Listen, it isn't a really bad film, but you have to be able like the ordinary and bland to enjoy this. One more thing - it also contains the most disgusting sex scene I've ever seen.
