Review of Life Is Hot in Cracktown (2009) by Sabra E — 19 Jan 2011
What a bleak and overdramatized glimpse into the buttcrack of a hypothetical America. Everyone in this movie either smokes crack/ binges drugs, is a prostitute, pimp, transvestite, gets beaten up/shot at, dies, has sex or gets raped.
Whoever says this is stunningly realistic or some shit like that has problems romanticizing the hard life.
Lara Flynn Boyle I barely recognized as a hooker because of so many bad plastic surgery mishaps, Kerry Washington doesn't look anything like a man disguised as a female drug addict hooker, and Brandon Routh from Superman to crackhead, really?
The lack of desire in being typecast is one thing, but to make sure to take the screen longer than brief vignette, in a better movie, with a better director to make the effort count.
