Review of Life Is a Miracle (2004) by Nazzmatazz P — 23 May 2008
This is one of the quirkiest films I've ever seen. The outbreak of the Balkan conflict is an unlikely setting for this crazy comedy, that had me laughing out loud. It's not only the locals who are eccentric, but the animals too! The characters are odd but endearing, and you can't help but feel drawn into the unlikely love story that develops.
The viewer is taken on a surreal, yet human journey. This film is absolutely charming and the scenic beauty of Bosnia is visually stunning on camera. It may be a bit long, but it is dreamy, sweet and touching.
A real gem from world cinema, that deserves to be treasured by a wider audience. And God bless that donkey!
