Review of Life Is a Miracle (2004) by Marko S — 01 Feb 2010

I have to admit that the fate of Yugoslavia casts a shadow over Kusturica for me. The film may be absurd or touching, but I can never forget that the reality is tragic. And given a hundred possible choices of what to do with my time, well, I'm usually not up for it.

Of course that's a mistake. Although I cringed here and there, overall I found this wonderfully life-affirming and well worth seeing.
