Review of Life in a Metro (2007) by Shradha B — 07 Dec 2007
Wonder why I hadnt seen this movie till earlier this week! it is very, very different from typical bollywood fare...deals with some seemingly real issues - none that I can relate to (thankfully, I guess) but that definitely seem representative of the culture in india's metros today.
The music was wonderful as was the acting - by all the characters. shilpa shetty looked gorgeous (instead of her usual slutty self) and I loved shiney ahuja! kangana ranaut needs to work on her acting for sure but fits her confused role like a glove! kay kay and irrfan impress - as always and konkona & sharman's acting is perhaps as close to real as it gets in a hindi movie. overall, a very beautiful potrayal of the complex nature of relationships in the rapidly changing country :).
