Review of Life in a Day (2011) by David Ray G — 09 Jan 2012
The best thing about this movie is its trailer. I felt so overwhelmed when I first watched the trailer - it looked like poetry on the screen, a movie I'd probably feel a lot during.
But it wasn't so. Despite being a very interesting project to watch, and it really is eye-opening when it comes to humanity, civilization, and culture, I didn't feel as though the movie...swept me away. I didn't feel complete after watching it, which is what I thought would happen. I believe many of the stories in the movie weren't all that interesting, and the stories I wanted to see more of were very short-lived. Plus, is this all the gamut of humanity? Not nearly.
In any case, I'm nitpicking because I had such high expectations. It's not as awe-inspiring and fulfilling as I wanted it to be, but it's still a very intriguing and hopeful movie to watch.
