Review of L!fe Happens (2011) by Mario H — 04 Jun 2013
Well watching this film makes one so thankful, deeply thankful about not having roommates!! Second, the 20's is not the most enjoyable stage in someones life. I say between 30-50 are the best years because one gains job experience and security, financial independence and hopefully maturity to deal with life's blows.
The comedy deals with three women in their 20's Kim (Ritter), Deena (Bosworth) and Laura (bilson) that live at the LA neighborhood of Silverlake. One of Kim's sexual escapades leads to an unexpected pregnancy and Kim has the baby, dealing with motherhood while the other roommates are determined to not let that hamper their single lifestyle.
Rest assured that carrying around a baby IS a dating "buzz-kill" in Los Angeles, the City of Angels where so many keep up with the Joneses and clicks are the norm. The movie is also a celebration of friendship and how to deal with life's unexpected detours along the way.
It is so great to watch a film and be able to say I was there, I know that area, I have lived there!! I have noticed that many films take place in Los Angeles, CA- well it is glamorous and famous but I love this city for other reasons and I hope to find a soul that shares and understands that.
