Review of Life As We Know It (2010) by Bryant H — 01 Apr 2011
Great, oh so great, title. Pretty big fail of a movie. Like Sucker Punch; the idea was really good, had great potential, had a great cast, etc.. but they just didn't know how to do it, or just made it for money and didn't give a shit about what they were making.
Sure it's a little endearing at the end, but it's nowhere near as authentic as one hopes for when watching this sort of picture, or just in general. So many stupid gimmicks here too. Blech. I was more psyched when I saw that Greg Berlanti was directing it; he wrote the new Green Lantern film and was a writer on No Ordinary Family; great stuff.
But my hope/faith in him is waning. Overall there are so much better Romantic Comedies/Dramas you/I could be watching; though then again, when's the last time we actually got a really good one? It's been a while, hasn't it?
