Review of Life As We Know It (2010) by Sophie B — 31 May 2011
A romantic comedy with some touching and funny moments, but ultimately a disappointment for sticking with stereotyped characters â" the feckless womanizer man and the uptight, control-freak woman, whose mutual dislike is tested when the two discover they have been named the joint guardians of a toddler whose parents have died in an accident.
The film goes for quick laughs, which means there is no depth and the supporting cast of neighbors, possible love interest, and social worker are all superficial and silly. Fortunately, the two leads are easy on the eye, and the toddler is an absolute charmer.
