Review of Life as a House (2001) by Mikhael E — 08 Aug 2008
In a 10 star rating I would have given it 8 and a half. A really good, sad film. Darth Vader was suitably annoying at the beginning of the film and actaully became likable by the end - a testament to his acting. kevin Kline did an excellent job too - he is also not a fave actor but won my admiration in this.
Made by the American Beauty folks, there was lots of tell tale stuff (trademark interesting shots, angles, and unconventional sex themes) but it was still quite removed from that film and a lot more sentimental. A real hate your daddy but love your son kinda film. If you know what I mean.
