Review of Life (2017) by Teddy F — 14 Apr 2017
Life is an out of this world thrill ride that when the movie picks up it doesn't slow down. The visuals are top notch and there are great performances all around. The CGI alien is fantastic and the space station is very well done in terms of looking real.
The soundtrack is powerful and menacing, fitting the mood of this movie like a glove. Sadly, there were a couple of big things that I took issue with that end up really ruining this movie for me. Firstly, I felt that Ryan Reynolds, who was easily my favorite character in the movie, was hugely underused and this frustrated me.
Another thing that bothered me was the twist ending. All I'm going to say is unlike others I did not enjoy it and felt that the movie would've been better if it had gone a more traditional route, but that is only how I felt and you may feel differently upon seeing it.
Otherwise, this movie definitely earns its title of sci-fi horror but, I cannot say I left the theater very satisfied.
