Review of Life (2017) by Devo-Nc — 26 Mar 2017
A flat terror that leaves you feeling more admiration for the film than you were half way in. A lot of the violence is almost unbearable, I wish there was more tensity rather than the horrid deaths and humoursly sappy sentimentality.
It slows down everything because why should we even bother to care for any of these characters. It's primitive in the collaborative efforts to actually make a decent film with some nice shots and empowering music.
This does not need a sequel. This is a stand-alone space horror, which can be a difficult genre to pull off. Sometimes though efforts from filmmakers are put in when the question of 'for what effect' is rarely asked.
This movie has that, and it shows because it's title doesn't correlate with what the movie is exploring whatsoever.
