Despite generally solid performances, characters, and action, Life has no life in it. The movie's plot is generic and completely free of effort. It feels like a major blend of Ridley Scott's space-themed movies with no originality.

It's a very safe and dull movie that can entertain for a bit but nothing more. Sony, still unable to catch a break in the past several years, is going to need to do better to prove it can keep its skin in the game when it comes to blockbusters.
