Review of Life (2017) by Ryan D — 24 Mar 2017
Daniel Espinosa has taken a relatively basic script and added some originality to it. There is a long shot at the very beginning that is pulling from the movie "Gravity" which was pretty cool.
The script, which is penned by the two guys behind deadpool, is sometimes funny and sometimes stupid but it's easy to get past that because everything moves at a brisk pace. The acting is very good and the first two acts are really good.
The third act is a little bit run of the mill but there is a nice twist and the ending is very anti typical Hollywood. There is a sense of dread the whole movie that I couldn't shake and the end put a nail in the coffin of that feeling.
Overall you'll probably forget this 20 minutes after viewing and I wish they took a few more chances with the story. Definitely better than I anticipated.
