I enjoyed this movie... Up until the last half hour. The effects were good, especially on "Calvin" and the outside scenes, but other than that, Meh. The suspense and seeing it grow and eat the astronauts was interesting, if not a bit cheap with jumpscares.

The move just axed off characters without us being able to connect to them. The only one I really cared about remotely was Sho, and that's was mainly due to us seeing his daughter and wife, and seeing him in the pod with the pictures of his wife.

The other had no backstory or reason to care about them. Regardless, I still enjoyed it a bit until the ending. When they showed Gyllenhaal in the escape pod on Earth, my faint smile turned to a disinterested stare.

There was no build up to it, since they only thought of going into the pods in the last 15 minutes, and there was no point in it. There were no signs to the pods going to the wrong places. In good twists, there's subtle hints that show that it is a possibility, and you see them as the twist happens.

Here, there was no purpose and no hints, so it just felt like a big middle finger to the audience. They finish with an eagle eye show zooming out on the pod, although we KNOW what's going to happen.

The thing with eat Gylenhaal, the two fishermen, the people on the other two boats, and end humanity. Just a terrible ending to a meh movie. I do not recommend.
