Review of Life (2017) by Late R — 31 Dec 2018
The cast is fantastic (read: wasted) and it's nicely filmed with some pretty tense scenes, but we've seen this before from other films (it's basically the premise to 'Alien'), only done much, much better. More importantly though: holy heck, is it full of plot holes, cliché sci-fi tropes, and incredibly stupid actions/decisions from characters who are supposed to be experts in their fields. I mean, it's almost as if it was done on purpose to drive the story forward... The script is just plain bad and lazily written, unfortunately, leading to an all-round disappointing experience, although I have to admit, I did like the ending.
P.S. I'm no biologist and I don't know if any have watched this, but I'm not convinced it makes any sense from that perspective, either.
