Review of License to Drive (1988) by Jedidiah C — 19 May 2008
Haim and Feldman are at the top of their games in this amazing film. This movie was funny as hell. I liked the part when Corey Haim crashed all the computers after he failed the test. I was cool with the characters in this film. I would hang out with them. Corey Haim's friends and his father were funny too. Also, uncle phil from Fresh Prince was in this.
This movie was cool because Corey Haim could get away with anything he wanted. This guy could drive reverse on the sidewalk, climb from one car into another on a highway, make a crazy face for his drivers license, and best of all: throw Heather Graham in the trunk when he wants to continue hanging out with his boys at the special diner {that level of insane behavior has always been one of my dreams}.
There is a happy ending to this movie. I am assuming he got his license to drive, but I am sure he has a license to ball heather graham whenever he wants to by the end.
My father took my sister and I to see this right when it came out in the movie theatres. At the time, my father said it would only be nine years until I too had a license. That was 20 years ago, and I still do not have one. Maybe that is why this movie still thrills me.
