I think some people had become too used to the camp, comedic Bond of the Roger Moore era that they couldn't get used to a brutal, angry, vengeful 007. Oh well, their loss! Dalton puts in a blistering performance aided by the down-to-earth plot and Carey Lowell's CIA informant.
Never has a Bond girl been quite so involved in the action.
