Review of Licence to Kill (1989) by Mike S — 12 Apr 2009

This is a much darker story in tone than Dalton's first outing as Bond. Here, Bond goes on a personal vendetta against a drug smuggler who injured Bond's longtime friend. The plot was relatively straightforward and the action scenes were great, particularly the extended tanker-truck chase scene at the end.

Many explosions. Many, many explosions. This Bond is much edgier and colder than Roger Moore's. There are very few Moore-like quips and double entendres, and I liked that. Overall, I thought this was one of the better Bond films.
