Review of Licence to Kill (1989) by Westleigh Q — 29 Oct 2009

In spite of having one of the coolest Bond titles to date, this movie never really seems to get off the ground. Prior to this film, Bond is portrayed as a world traveling loner, but now he is the best man at a wedding and is beloved by everyone in attendance.

This is pretty inconsistent with his character. And since the entire plot of the film revolves around the disruption of this particular wedding, it seems very contrived. Dalton is good as Bond, but lacks the humor of his predecessors.

Overall, not the greatest Bond film, but not as bad as everyone thinks it is.
