Review of Licence to Kill (1989) by Edgar C — 16 Jun 2013
Surprised to see a vendetta plot?
A straight-to-the-point introduction finishes the 80s tradition in the Bond series to open with a stylish action scene that is unrelated with the subsequent primary plot. Dalton is still the worst actor to portray Bond but he had the good luck of participating in worthy adaptations. The vendetta plot is explained with Dalton playing the spy as Fleming's original novels intended: cold-blooded and sporadically vengeful. National stereotypes abound. In fact, I find it pretty curious to see an abundant number of Mexican actors in the film's pay roll, beginning with Pedro Armendáriz and Sergio Corona.
61/100.
