Review of Licence to Kill (1989) by Richard L — 28 Nov 2014
Probably my favorite entry in the franchise from the 1980s. Despite some serious ridiculousness (including the physic-defying tricks James Bond is able to do with a semi-truck and a funny turn by Wayne Newton) Licence to Kill is one of the darker entries, with more gore than had been seen in the franchise.
The angst begins with a fantastic allusion to George Lazenby's single movie as Bond, and continues with Bond's singular focus on tracking down the movie's villain after a brutal attack on Felix Leiter and his new bride.
