Review of Libeled Lady (1936) by Bulan ' — 02 Sep 2006
A fantastic comedy from the late '30s, starring one of my favorites, William Powell, in a role very different from the one that introduced me to him in My Man Godfrey.
I have to say I am not very big on Spencer Tracy...but the rest of the cast is fantastic. Myrna Loy was wonderful as the titular character, whom Powell must somehow persuade to drop her lawsuit against a slimy newspaper man (Tracy).
The film is hilarious - and I laughed my ass off during the famous fishing sequence with Powell.
8.
