Review of Liar Liar (1997) by Mimi S — 10 Jun 2013
Grade: A-.
Jim Carrey is absolutely hilarious in this heart-warming comedy about an attourney who is obsessed with work and often breaks his young son Max's promises because he's always caught up in work. On his fifth birthday Max makes a wish that his father can't lie for one day and amazingly it comes true. Jim Carrey has you roaring with laughter with his over the top performances. This film is also heart warming and tugs at the heartstrings. This is definitely one of the films that shows Jim Carrey at his best and at his peak as a comedian. I think it's one of the best 90's comedies. It's sweet and charming with decent performances. If you want something funny be warned that your sides will be hurting from laughter.
