Review of Leviathan (2014) by John C — 05 Jul 2015
The acting and setting are great, although I was hoping for a even strong visual display of the Russian small town landscape. The feel and social aspects of that setting are certainly presented well. In the end though how much of it have we seen before? The baron taking land, the vodka drinking Russians in despair, small town life, cheating spouse, teen full of angst and hurt, corruption and lack of law enforcement in remote areas.
Its all done well and the cast is great, but what theme's am I really watching and are they worth it?
