Review of Leviathan (2014) by Tony D — 19 Dec 2015
Bleak, bleak tale of petty tyranny, personal betrayal, and tragedy in a depressed fishing village in Russia's far north. The village is ramshackle, the law a Kafkan maze, the work drudgery, the few available escapes vodka, sex, smoking, and shooting pictures of dead leaders.
Power is destiny, is truth, a great leviathan. Know your place. Don't be fool enough to defy the truth of power.
