Review of Leviathan (1989) by Ken T — 23 Jan 2010
Very obvious sci-fi/horror rip-off of "Alien" and "The Thing" finds an underwater mining crew discovering a sunken Russian vessel and eventually having to deal with a genetic mutating monster.
Some tense spots here and there along with a number of (although not very inventive) gruesome and slimy situations are not enough to compensate for a number of very slow points. That and you never do get a chance to get a real good look at the hideous creature.
I would really only recommend this one if you don't mind seeing borrowed science-fiction ideas recycled again and again. Otherwise, stick with the originals!
