Review of Letters to Juliet (2010) by Luigi T — 26 Nov 2011
For an early summer flick, it was quite entertaining. Amanda Seyfried has no problem carrying a movie on her own, and she plays well in these romantic tales. The best part truly was played by the incomparable Vanessa Redgrave. A long time favorite her grace still astounds me. I absolutely loved that her real life husband played her "Romeo". Their true story even shares some parallels with the movie.
My only real issue was with Seyfried's opposite. While they built the tension and banter well between the characters, I felt like something got missed. I didn't quite buy the chemistry at the end.
I got a lot more than I expected with this film, and was more than pleasantly surprised. Worth owning, it's one of those easily watched movies, you can see again and again.
