Review of Letters to God (2010) by Jaclyn B — 14 Apr 2010
You have to see it for what it is: A movie BY christians,FOR christians. We deserve to have films we can go see whithout fear of constand offensive content.Anyone who read anything about this movie and still went to see it knew what they were in for.
Maybe you're a little more hungry for God then you think. ;) I loved this movie and it definitely had me crying at the end. It's my opinion that this movie got right everything "My Sister's Keeper" got wrong.
That movie dealth with some of the same issues of a child with cancer yet never once provided hope in the presence of that darkness.Instead we got two kids having sex and as the viewer we're supposed to think what? "At least she got some before she died?" Um,NO.
"Letters To God" told a beautiful story as true to the facts as possible and left you feeling that even though he died everything's going to ok...not just ok,but better. Better because of the lasting impact of that childs life.
Coming from a very, very low budget film crew who simply have a heart to make movies that are more a ministry than mind candy, what more could you possibly ask?
