One of the best films I've ever seen, certainly one of the best war films. This the best Clint Eastwood ever offered, and he made plenty. I can only describe the movie as in awe of it's material.
The movie presents what the japanese did on Iwo Jima as somekind of a mystery and tries to solve it and explain it. The style works so well. A great great movie.
