There are two sides to every story and Clint Eastwood decided to film Letters from Iwo Jima simultaneously with Flags of Our Fathers to tell the Japanese side of the Battle for Iwo Jima. Seeing both films gives viewers something they don't usually get in war movies and that is both sides of the story.
Really beautiful movie, and if you haven't seen it then I recommend you do.
