Review of Letters from Iwo Jima (2006) by Risya H — 23 Jan 2011
This movie is about war but wasn't showed much in gunfire bloody baths actions but instead told the stories about the affects of war on the people involved, giving the exquisite insight into the human condition.
In this case, as told from the Japanese perspectives who fought it. This movie is powerful, moving and dark, resembling a black-and-white film. I thought it was done well with so much feeling. It felt like it was not made to impress the viewers but to make a real statement.
