Review of Letters from Iwo Jima (2006) by Jake W — 30 Jul 2009
After showing the American side of things in Flags Of Our Fathers, director Clint Eastwood takes an about face and shows the perspective of the Japanese on their side of the battle, facing certain defeat, outnumbered, and running low on supplies and water fast.
More of a straightforward typical war film than "Flags", but cinematically the two are as good as each other. If you've seen "Flags", you need to see this.
